Flipping Lincoln Avenue: Demo Day
No, it’s not A METH SHACK NOR HURRICANE KATRINA. It’s Demo Day.
This is the day we get really excited about. Weeks of prep have gone into the house to make sure we have taken out all the items that we want to be saved or renovated. Then the walls are marked and demo begins.
History uncovered.
This signature was on the casing of one of the arched windows from 1925. It looks like the window maker might have signed it. Cool, huh?
Disaster of the week.
Remember how I told you I was going to share the good and the bad? Well, this cute little cottage was supposed to be the good. It was supposed to be some paint, clean up, and a new kitchen and bath.
well, Take a look now.
HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM.
Once we started looking closer at the cottage, we realized that termites had been having a heyday for quite some time. As we started pulling off the exterior facing, we realized how bad the problem was. Very bad. So the ENTIRE front of the cottage has to be torn off and rebuilt.
Our little cottage is going to get a MAJOR face lift. I’m jealous.
