Stacked or Staggered.
And the winner is…
Thanks to all of you who wrote in, both on the block and also directly on text. It was super interesting to hear from everyone. The vast majority of you voted for the tried and true…Staggered. So, that’s what we did!
Here is the kitchen wall with the staggered tile.
We used a matte subway which gave it a classic but also modern feel. It was special ordered at Bull Nose Tile in San Jose.
Doesn’t it look amazing?
Now, for the cherry on top!
If you have been following the blog for awhile, you probably know that we have a rock star in our midst. Tony, owner and lead designer of Terra Amico, a reclaimed wood and furniture store here in Willow Glen.
We had the opporunity to visit him at his farm and workshop in San Martin, CA. Check it out and follow them here. We got a personal tour of his workshop and sustainable farm. And, we purchased the MOST INSANE piece of wood ever. I mean, people, i have never been so excited about a piece of wood. Ever. It was a 16 foot piece of 100 year old Douglas Fir.

And here is the finished product
You know, I keep thinking that the whole reclaimed wood thing is on its’ way out. But this house was screaming for a little soul. And this was just the trick. Hope you think so, too.
Thanks again, for all of you who voted. And thanks to everyone just for being here and following our projects. We appreciate it so much.
